Weddings are overwhelming at times. If you’re on a tight budget, it can seem impossible to make it happen. The truth of the matter is, a wedding is about the union of love; it’s not about the show.
With the economy being at such a low, people have been finding new ways to have a wedding ceremony and celebration without spending much!
One way to save big on a wedding is to have it in a park, with a picnic atmosphere. There are plenty of park locations that lend themselves to a picturesque wedding. Also, besides getting permission from the park (or a permit), and a fee that isn’t even a fraction of a normal venue, your wedding setting is locked in. Nature decorates for you, and it creates a setting where you can dress things down a touch, without being out of place.
If you’d like, add an acoustic guitar player or violinist, bring an officiant, grab some cheap wildflower bouquets and you have a wedding. Keep it intimate and you won’t even need to worry about any seating.
By way of a reception, you could easily have a picnic reception there in the park. Double bonus if someone else hosts it, and takes care of the food. If not in the park, you could take your reception to the home of the host, or even a favorite restaurant.
There is no wedding too simple. At the end of the day, if you’ve married your best friend, you’ve accomplished a great thing; and having people you love there beside you is an added bonus!
